Policy on Basement Bedroom Windows
for Section 8 Voucher Housing Quality Standards.
All bedrooms located in basements must meet the following window criteria:
Window must have a minimum clear width opening of twenty (20) inches.
Window must have a minimum clear height opening of twenty-four (24) inches.
Total clear opening area has to be minimum of 5.7 square feet. (WxH) divided by 144 = total square feet.
Bottom windowsill can not be more than forty-four (44) inches from the floor.
